Broadband Speeds Explained

ADSL1 was the first broadband internet which delivered far more data with far higher speed than Dialup. ADSL1 is available in a range of plans with download speeds of up to 8Mbps.

ADSL2+ is the new standard of ADSL using new technology to deliver theoretical maximum download speeds of up to 20Mbps and upload speeds of up to 892kbps. All ADSL2+ plans have the similar speeds; the variable is the data quota you need. Naked ADSL2+ uses ADSL2+ technology and frees you up if you don't need a fixed phone.

A majority of ADSL2+ customers will connect at between 6Mbps and 15Mbps. The actual speed that you experience will be based several factors, including how far you are from the exchange, the quality of your phone line, the broadband hardware you use and the speed of the website you connect to.

All ADSL2+ Bundled (Internet + Phone) Plans require an additional monthly fee of $29 to cover telephone line rental. To view our call rates click here. We can deliver both your phone calls and the internet down the same telephone line without any reduction in your internet speed. You can even make a phone call whilst your are surfing the internet.

What is Off Peak Quota?

Off Peak Quota is an extra data quota you can access after hours. Because our network serves mainly businesses, it's pretty quiet afte hours. We'd like you to benefit from this, with extra quota for e.g. off-site backups, transfers of very large files, or even extra private or family use. If it's after hours it's extra data for you at no extra cost. Off peak is 6pm-6am your local time anywhere in Australia. Read more about shaping.
